Feb 13, 2004

Peoria Hoops is a local non-profit group that produces weekly TV programming featuring Peoria's grade school and high school basketball players. Their objective is to give kids the attention and recognition they deserve for their achievements on and off the court. Peoria Hoops emphasizes character development and academic achievement in Peoria's youth.

As part of Leap Frog Solutions Community Support Program, Leap Frog Solutions provides computer support and assistance in video production to Peoria Hoops free of charge.

"If it was not for their help, there wouldn't be a show. They really know their stuff and I can't thank them enough. They really care about people", said Ron Willis the founder of Peoria Hoops.

This month the new Peoria Hoops Logo was designed by Larry Fuller (age 16) of Peoria Heights High School and Bruce Padmore, CEO of Leap Frog Solutions.

"It was fun to work with Larry as we both took his pencil sketches and turned them into a polished product. This project gave him a chance to see for the first time the tools used by designers and how technology is relevant to his life and interests.

Larry was really surprised by how professional his designed looked. I find it exciting to see someone discover the potential they have inside them", said Bruce Padmore.

Peoria Hoops can bee seen on Insight Cable Thursdays 8 PM to 9 PM on channel 44 and Tuesdays 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM on channel 22.
